It is plowed by the town of Bovina Center but will still have potholes so drive carefully. The driveway to the cabin is UPHILL. 4WD or AWD vehicles are necessary. If you are unfamiliar with driving in the snow, particularly uphill, search online for tips. Sites like AAA have good information. The driveway is plowed and shoveled to the entrance. The driveway is plowed every several inches of fallen snow but if it is snowing, there may still be snow on the driveway. A shovel is provided, please keep the walkway maintained during your stay. We want your stay to be safe, comfortable, and smooth. Here are a few important details to know before and during your visit: Semi Off-Grid Setup •This is a semi off-grid cabin with no indoor plumbing. •Fresh water jugs are provided for drinking, cooking, and washing dishes. •A solar shower jug can be filled and warmed in the sun for outdoor rinsing (bathing suit recommended). •There is no refrigerator, but a Yeti cooler is provided for food storage—just bring ice. Sleeping Arrangements •The loft has a full-size bed, accessible by a metal ladder. Ceiling height is approximately three feet. •The main floor has a twin XL daybed that sleeps one. •Guests must be comfortable using the ladder. The loft setup is not ideal for small children or infants. Fireplace Safety •The heat is provided by a Jotul wood stove. A space heater is available to supplement the wood stove. The wood stove does not have a safety gate. Please use extra caution, especially with young guests. Natural Light •There are no curtains in the cabin.
